Spotted Blue-Eye (Pseudomugil gertrudae) Aru II

A tiny and delightful blue-eye rainbowfish from northern Australia, southern New Guinea, and the Aru Islands. Named after Mrs Gertrude Merton, who accompanied her husband on expeditions to the Aru Archipelago.
Key Features
- Maximum Size: 3.8 cm / ~1.5 inches SL.
- Appearance: Transparent to pale silver body with black spots or lines on the rear half, yellow fins with black markings, and bright blue eyes.
- Fin Details: Dorsal spines 4–6, dorsal soft rays 6–8; anal spines 1, anal soft rays 9–12.
Aquarium Care
- Tank Size: Minimum 20 gallons for a small school (nano tank friendly).
- Water Parameters: Tropical freshwater; 77–86°F (25–30°C), pH 6.0–8.0, soft to moderate hardness.
- Diet: Omnivorous — micro foods, flakes, frozen.
- Behavior: Peaceful, active schooling fish perfect for planted nano setups.
